New Blog

Originally written on: Tuesday, July 25, 2006

Hi everyone!
I am back in bloggery. Though, now without internet connection. So, wont be able to make posts too often. I am glad that the number of the blog infected is increasing among iceussies, which will actually bring to the total uselessness of the Wisdom blog.
Nothing new has been happening in our small town lately. Only that we planned with Kristina to go to a techno concert on Saturday. It will be a good relaxation i hope, as I am really done now with all that organizational stuff for my internship.
Still have not gotten my visa for Austria, no flat found, no health-insurance for overseas yet made. Schengen gives me only the right to travel to Austria, but not to make a traineeship. It sometimes sucks to be a third country national. You need a permission or a document even if you want to fart, sorry for that, it is just too hot to think or to do any activity here in Germany. By the way, it is quite funny, now that I realize, that this will be second foreign country for me where I actually will live for more than two months. Actually, back on my return to my homeland I can say that I lived in both of those countries who have started or were involved in starting of both of the World Wars that broke out in the last century.
I know not much about Austria, actually. No I am lying. I know that Vienna is supposed to have world-famous cakes. Though, this does not interest me at all. I hate cakes, because I always have to control myself, and stop eating too much, as otherwise I eventually vomit.
Another thing I know about Vienna, is that Ottoman turks were stopped here from further enlargement of their Empire. They were promised riches and pretty Austrian women, but one of the two must have dissappointed them and they returned back home. On my arrival in Vienna, I will tell exactly which one of them was a turning point in the European history.
Oh, and yes, to make my life in Vienna more beautiful, I was told that German spoken in Austria sounds like Bavarian. Hmm, I had to recall the man from the bar in Bamberg, where I was with Ragil, Lucy and her friend. I think I would easily understand a gorilla rather than this guy. So Austrian German is told to be same hard. Well, it means I will have to employ all my talents of mimic and gesturing for the next months. Another reason why all those who have studied abroad usually look so emotional and use many gestures after they return home. I can argue with anyone who thinks this hypothesis is wrong.
I think, i have to hit the road home now. Besides, I am distracted now by loud Yankees making summer university here. These Gringoes are quite funny. They all did military here, and now decided to return for vacations "to mount a couple of Germans". All they mounted so far was a big pile of beer bottles in their flat, which is so stinky that even I living one floor above can smell alcohol breeze. Anyway, the point is, that I don't sympathise my president at all, but I thank him that he kicked out American base from my country. I am not sure if there exists such a precedent.
I am now also hungry. So I wish everyone a productive experience with internship, and my advice, never decide where you gonna do your internship, when it is only 3 weeks left to its actual start.
Peace out!

Firdavs.
